Your AFT Score

0 / 500
โ€”
๐Ÿ’ก Pro-Tip: The AFT dropped the standing power throw, so there are only five events and a 500-point maximum โ€” old 600-point ACFT scores don't compare directly. Soldiers in the 21 combat MOSs are scored on the male (sex-neutral) scale and need 350 minimum; everyone else needs 300 with at least 60 per event.

How the Army Fitness Test Is Scored

The AFT replaced the ACFT as the Army's test of record on June 1, 2025. Five events โ€” the 3-repetition maximum deadlift, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank, and 2-mile run โ€” are each scored 0-100 against your age and sex bracket, for a 500-point maximum. This calculator uses the complete official scoring tables published by the Army (approved May 15, 2025), across all ten age groups from 17-21 to over 62.

What Changed from the ACFT

Two things: the standing power throw was eliminated (the Army cited poor correlation with readiness and elevated injury risk), and combat-arms soldiers moved to a sex-neutral standard with a higher 350-point floor. If a resource you're using still shows six events or a 600-point maximum, it's scoring the retired ACFT. Our ACFT vs AFT guide covers exactly what changed, and what counts as a good AFT score breaks down the ranges. For the toughest event, see our sprint-drag-carry guide. Testing for another branch? We cover the Marine Corps PFT, Navy PRT, and the new 2026 Air Force PFRA with the same official-tables approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which MOSs use the combat standard?

The 21 designated combat specialties โ€” infantry, armor, cavalry, combat engineer, artillery, Special Forces, and similar direct-combat roles. Combat-MOS soldiers of any sex are scored on the male table and must total 350+ with at least 60 per event.

Is the deadlift entered as total weight or per rep?

The bar weight you successfully deadlift for 3 repetitions on the hex bar โ€” a 230 lb entry means three reps at 230 lb. Estimate your 3-rep capability from any recent set with our One Rep Max Calculator (3RM is roughly 93% of 1RM).

Do old ACFT scores convert to AFT scores?

No official conversion exists. The five shared events use largely similar tables, but with the standing power throw gone, the maximum dropped from 600 to 500 โ€” comparing totals across the two tests is comparing different scales.

How do I train the sprint-drag-carry?

The SDC rewards repeat anaerobic power: sled drags, loaded carries, and shuttle intervals. It's also the event where pacing mistakes are most expensive โ€” going out at a full sprint on the first 50m typically costs more time in the carry and final sprint than it gains. Our Rucking Calorie Calculator and plank benchmarks cover the supporting conditioning work.
